Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service were called at 2.02pm to a fire in a wooded area on the London Road side of Chantry Park, near the Robin Road junction, opposite Park View Care Home. The fire involved grass, trees and undergrowth. Firefighters used hose reels and beaters to bring it under control and prevent it from spreading further. Crews remain at the scene, although the incident has now been stopped. A Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman confirmed there have been no reported injuries, road closures, evacuations or property damage.
