My thanks go to Bob and the entire organising team, as well as the volunteers, businesses and community groups whose hard work made the thirteenth Trout ’n’ About such a success. This week has also been particularly busy, as I have welcomed 10 students from across the constituency for my annual work experience programme. One of the highlights was a visit to the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance’s new base at Southampton Airport. Work experience should be about much more than simply observing from the sidelines. I hope the students have felt able to ask questions, share their views and gain a genuine insight into public service.
