Jenny Coppell, community champion at Newtown Morrisons, said: "It’s been fantastic to see the community come together to support Marie Curie. The relay is part of wider Marie Curie activities taking place in Morrisons stores across the UK throughout July and August, including a community fun day at Newtown Morrisons on the same date as the relay. Ms Coppell has already helped raise nearly £9,000 for Marie Curie Cymru since October 2024 through similar events. Funds raised from Paint It Yellow events help Marie Curie continue delivering care to people with any terminal illness. Residents are encouraged to visit Newtown Morrisons on the day to support the relay, enjoy the fun day, and learn more about the work of Marie Curie.
