A wildfire is burning on moorland near Llangynidr Reservoir, Ebbw Vale and crews from South Wales Fire and Rescue Service and Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service are on site. Following ongoing assessments, a specialist firefighting helicopter is supporting crews on the ground. There is a significant amount of smoke in the area, and anyone affected is being reminded to keep their windows and doors closed. "We expect to be at the scene for a few days and we will continue to review our response daily as conditions change". Members of the public are being thanked for their continued support and cooperation while crews continue to tackle the blaze.
