Punjab Police have registered 9,272 cases under the Kite Flying Act across the province during the first seven months of the year as authorities stepped up enforcement against the manufacture, sale and flying of kites. According to the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP), police arrested 8,202 suspects during the crackdown and recovered kites, hazardous strings and other related material from their possession. Lahore recorded the highest number of violations, with 4,367 cases, followed by Sheikhupura with 1,559 cases.
