HM Coastguard was called to the scene at 2.15am on Tuesday, August 4, to support Dorset Police in the search for a 'high-risk' missing person. Multiple coastguard rescue teams from Southbourne, Swanage, and Kimmeridge were deployed to assist. A spokesman for HM Coastguard said: "Over five hours of searches were completed on foot and by vehicle of our primacy, with nothing untoward found the decision was made to suspend the search until additional information was gained." With the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre and Dorset Police content with the involvement and search outcomes, teams were thanked stood down and released back to their stations, awaiting possible re-tasking in the future in relation to this missing person. RNLI Poole Lifeboat and inshore lifeboat also attended along with Wessex Rescue Drone Team.
