The blaze occurred at a sports club on Park Road, Hursley, with crews from Eastleigh, Andover, Winchester, Romsey, Hightown, Redbridge, St Mary’s, Botley, Sutton Scotney, Portchester, Beaulieu, Fareham, Bishops Waltham and Stockbridge responding shortly after 11pm. A spokesperson for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue said: "On arrival, firefighters found the building well alight. They began returning to their stations at around 3am. A fire investigation is set to determine the cause of the incident, which is currently unknown.
