Two top cruise liners make appearances in back-to-back visits to Greenock

Virgin Voyages’ Valiant Lady sailed into town on Saturday, August 8, before Celebrity Cruises’ Celebrity Eclipse followed on Sunday, August 9.
The 17-deck Valiant Lady, built at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy in 2022, weighs around 110,000 tonnes and measures 278 metres in length.
The adults-only vessel can accommodate almost 3,000 passengers and more than 1,100 crew.
Celebrity Eclipse then arrived at Greenock on Sunday, giving locals and cruise ship enthusiasts another eye-catching sight on the Clyde.
Built in Germany in 2010, the 15-deck ship weighs more than 121,000 tonnes and can accommodate around 2,850 passengers.
