Assays from ultrafine soil sampling programs completed at Barton Gold’s (ASX: BGD) Tarcoola project in South Australia have indicated the presence of extensions to the mineralisation and new drilling targets. The company reported expansive surface gold-silver-lead anomalism at the Tolmer and Black Oak Tank prospects with potential for material extensions of mineralisation in the western silver zone beyond the current drilling footprint. Historical regional-scale calcrete sampling in the area returned a maximum 17 parts per billion gold, with a maximum result from Barton’s program of 26.2ppb gold. Potential for ExtensionsMr Scanlon said the company was happy with its continued progress of Tarcoola exploration. “These assays provide the first hints as to orientation at Tolmer, indicating a potential overall northwest-to-southeast trend at the western silver zone, and the potential for material extensions of its high-grade silver-gold footprint,” he said.
