Fans have been chomping at the bit to see young Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Fernando Mendoza roll with the first-team offense at training camp. But after a slow start, Mendoza really kicked it into high gear and did some good things for the Raiders. All of that is critical for a young quarterback to earn trust and get on the field in the early going. Obviously, Mendoza wasn't perfect, but this was a tremendous step for the young quarterback to take. It's the same concepts, it's the same plays, just a little bit faster guys that he's going against.
