By JULIE CARLEBG Independent NewsThe third time was a charm for the two “best of the best” showmen in the 2026 Bill Buchman Showmanship Sweepstakes Saturday night at the Wood County Fair. Morgan Wiechman, a 10-year member of the Beaver Creek Boosters 4-H Club, came out of the pack of nine competitors to be named the Grand Champion of the showmanship sweepstakes. The ABCs of pig showmanship as Maddie Evans (A), Micaela Wiechman (B) and Morgan Wiechman (C) line up waiting for instructions. “As soon as I found out I would be in the showmanship sweepstakes, I started to practice,” she said. Emma Reid is the Reserve Champion in the showmanship sweepstakes.
