A decision to raise an objection to deeply controversial plans for a wind farm with turbines higher than London’s Gherkin in an iconic area of Ross-shire was made by a Highland Council committee.
Councillors raised concerns about the impact on Ben Wyvis.
The Carn Fearna Wind Farm Limited proposal was seeking permission for nine turbines, the largest of which would have a maximum blade tip height of 200m situated near Garve and Dingwall.
Dingwall and Seaforth councillor Angela MacLean (Liberal Democrats) spoke of her own experience when she said “I know how important Ben Wyvis is”.
The plans for the wind farm were classed as a national development, this will mean it is up to the Scottish Government to make the final decision.
