The programme begins with artist Georgia Williams’ residency at SVA's John Street site, Time on Paper, from August 18 to 24. Williams, who has worked as a photographer for eight years, will use the residency to develop a new body of work through drawing. From August 25 to 31, artist Archie Taylor-Roach will be in residency at the John Street site with an exhibition of hand-woven suspended sculptures, exploring the relationship between maker and waste. The show brings together small works made over two decades using found materials, which have informed larger works on paper and cloth. Later highlights include live performances from saxophonist Mali Sheard’s Homestead on October 24 and the Christ-Stéphane Boizi Sextet on November 6.
