Doris Irene Childress, 85, of Galesburg, Illinois, passed away at 5:17 p.m. on Monday, August 3, 2026, at University of Iowa Medical Center, Iowa City, Iowa. She was born November 7, 1940, in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of Carl and Iona Smith. She is survived by her daughters, Willimeia Rosella Conroy, Emily Irene Marsh and Julie Irene Brown; a son, Lawrence Oliver Taylor; eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, August 14, 2026, at Memorial Park Cemetery, Galesburg.
