By Mike Hutchens, UC Schools Communications DirectorUnion City stepped up its level of competition in its second preseason football scrimmage on Friday, and the Golden Tornadoes more than held their own. “When I turn on the film, I’m going to see a lot of good things,” first-year head coach Wade Maddox claimed after the two-hour scrimmage. “I’m going to see a physical brand of football against a couple of good football teams. The Twisters did have some issues “getting ballcarriers on the ground,” but Maddox says any and all mistakes were fixable. Union City will scrimmage one final time before its season-opener, facing Dresden next Friday in the Henry County Jamboree.
