One person is in unstable condition after being injured during an apartment fire early Sunday morning. Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Services responded to a high-rise apartment along Elgin Avenue around 4:37 a.m. on Aug, 9, after receiving a report of a fire. Several fire crews responded due to the safety risk of the building, and when they arrived, they could see smoke coming from the building and began to battle the blaze before declaring it under control at 5:17 a.m.Two people were assessed at the scene by paramedics; however, one was taken to hospital in unstable condition. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
