Marengo man faces felony charges after fatal crash near LeavenworthLEAVENWORTH, Ind. (WISH) — A Marengo man is facing felony charges after crashing his truck into a tree south of Leavenworth late Friday night, killing his passenger. 34-year-old Steven Spurling was driving a 2020 Chevrolet Colorado north on East Wyandotte Avenue about 12:30 a.m. when he lost control, ran off the road and hit a tree, according to Indiana State Police. State police say Steven appeared intoxicated at the scene. Steven faces preliminary charges of reckless driving and operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing death, a mid-level felony.
