Earlier, the victims had gone to Kuvempunagar Police station and submitted a memorandum, seeking compensation, by confiscating the assets of Chinnathambi. As the Police failed to soothe the frayed nerves, enraged people ransacked Club 64 Bar and Restaurant, near BEML Layout Arch in Srirampura second stage. One of the victims alleged that, Chinnathambi lured people by offering higher prices for the gold pledged at his Sri Narasimha Jewellery, ATJ Gold, Dhanaganapathi Finance, SDJ Gold and STG Gold, with a common GST number (29AFVPR2377H321). Even after repaying the loan amount along with a stipulated rate of interest, the valuables were not returned to the customers. Despite a case registered at Kuvempunagar Police Station, Chinnathambi has come out of jail on bail and is threatening the complainants.
