Jammu, Aug 9: The Jammu State Movement held a meeting in Bishnah on Saturday, reiterating its demand for separate statehood for Jammu and alleging that the region has faced discrimination in employment, development and policy decisions. Singh alleged that the abrogation of Article 370 had not addressed the concerns of Jammu and claimed that successive policies had often favoured Kashmir over the Jammu region. He appealed to people to unite and pursue the demand for separate statehood through peaceful and democratic means. Deepak Singh, founder of the Jammu State Movement, also addressed the gathering and said the movement was not against any individual or community but aimed at raising issues concerning the rights, dignity and development of Jammu. Deepak Singh said the movement would continue to seek greater political and developmental rights for Jammu and take its campaign to villages and different sections of society.
