Outgoing Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) made startling admissions Sunday in a spat with Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) — that harbored blatantly discriminatory views and can't spell. In a social media post published on Friday, Mace, who lost her gubernatorial bid to a GOP opponent backed by President Donald Trump, claimed that “every single Muslim holding public office in America is a trojan horse and a threat." The post drew widespread scrutiny and was viewed more than 7.6 million times. Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN), who recently lost his primary election, claimed in March that “Muslims don’t belong in American society.” The rise in anti-Muslim rhetoric among American lawmakers has coincided with reporting on an influence campaign linked to Israel's government.
