Immediately following his death, then-Attorney General Bill Barr appeared to endorse Epstein’s supposed cause of death, expressing his shock that Epstein had died “from an apparent suicide.” However, Trump instead took to social media to suggest that former President Bill Clinton was somehow involved. “So you have to ask: Did Bill Clinton go to the island?” Trump and Epstein were friends for years , with Trump once calling him "a terrific guy" who liked beautiful women "on the younger side.”
