The NYPD is paying tribute to a former chief who drowned in a pool in the backyard of a Long Island home this weekend. Police in Suffolk County said Anthony Izzo was found unresponsive Friday evening at a home in Stony Brook around 7:45 p.m. Officials said a family member called 911. Izzo, who lived at the home, was pulled from the pool and rushed to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was ultimately pronounced dead.
