RAIPUR: Amid the severe situation, caused by floods in Assam, Chhattisgarh chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Sunday decided to provide Rs five crore in assistance from the state government to support people affected by the disaster. The financial assistance will contribute to the ongoing relief and rehabilitation efforts in Assam, Mr. Sai said. Mr. Sai on Sunday spoke to his Assam counterpart Himanta Biswa Sarma over telephone and took stock of the situation arising from the floods in the North-East state. He said that people of Chhattisgarh stand in complete solidarity with their brothers and sisters in Assam in this hour of crisis.
