Earlier, the Federation had issued a letter stating that it would no longer support the Dancers’ Union or take up its issues. The Federation also expressed concern over the Dancers’ Union’s failure to revoke the suspension of some of its members. It made it clear that the remaining 23 affiliated crafts would not extend support to the Dancers’ Union or its members. “Camera, editing and fighters’ unions, among others, will not support the Dancers’ Union from now onwards,” the Federation stated in its communication. The dispute, which initially emerged as a disagreement between choreographers Jani Master and Sekhar Master, has now escalated into a larger confrontation between the Federation and the Dancers’ Union.
