VISAKHAPATNAM: Two women were killed and four others seriously injured after lightning struck agricultural fields at Pedango, a tribal hamlet under Budarasingi panchayat in Mandasa mandal of Srikakulam district on Sunday. They were among a group of agriculture labourers engaged in kharif agricultural work when heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning lashed the area. Four other women Majji Devika, Katta Sushmita, Kumar Neelavati and Boya Karimi also suffered serious injuries. The injured were shifted to the Haripuram Community Health Centre, where Jora later succumbed to her injuries. Hafeesa sustained fatal injuries in the collision, while another occupant was injured and shifted to a hospital.
