Adilabad:International Adivasi Day was observed across the erstwhile Adilabad district on Sunday, with Adivasi organisations and government officials highlighting tribal rights and welfare. Adivasi leaders took a pledge to fight for their rights over Jal, Jangal and Jameen. Thudum Debba, Adivasi Sena and Adivasi Sankshema Parishath organised programmes and processions in Adilabad, Utnoor and Asifabad. Thudum Debba state president Godam Ganesh said Adivasis continued to face hardship and humiliation despite 75 years of Independence. Collector Rajarshi Shah, superintendent of police Akhil Mahajan, ITDA project officer Manda Makarandu and Adivasi leaders attended the programme at Utnoor.
