Iran’s state-run Mizan news agency, citing Basij Organisation deputy Qasem Qoraishi, reported that images showing Khamenei “among the people and out in the streets”, as well as meeting commanders of the armed forces, would be released in the coming days. The announcement came a day after Iran’s semi-official Mehr News Agency released a 12-second video showing Khamenei speaking with several officials and advisers. The footage showed the Supreme Leader seated on a carpet and delivering a religious lesson. The planned release of further images would provide additional footage of Khamenei in public following his extended absence from view.
