Tom Chilton became the tenth different winner of the season in the British Touring Car Championship after claiming a comfortable lights-to-flag victory in the reverse grid finale at Knockhill. Running the more preferable soft tyre, Chilton made the best start of the front runners and with a clear road ahead of him, the Hyundai driver was wheel-perfect as he romped home. Plato Racing’s Morgan rounded out one of the best day’s of his career in the championship by charging to second place, having started eighth. Like Chilton, Morgan had the soft tyre bolted onto his Mercedes and he made the most of it as he carved his way through the field. Muscling his way into second on lap nine, the Lancashire driver quickly settled into a groove and shadowed Chilton all the way to the chequered flag.
