I was thinking of “Spider Man: Brand New Day” the other night, watching “Annie Hall” on TCM.
Annie (Diane Keaton) calls Alvy (Woody Allen) to come kill a spider in her bathroom.
But the spider — “as big as the size of a Buick” — is elusive, and Woody smashes everything in the bathroom.
And so “Brand New Day” has smashed everything in the bathroom, and is headed for other parts of the house.
Worldwide total is over $1 billion. The comic book adventure generated $43 million on Friday, $57 million on Saturday, and an estimated $45 million on Sunday, according to Sony.
