INDIANAPOLIS (WRTV) — High heat and humidity did not stop thousands of people from attending the opening weekend of the Indiana State Fair. With extreme temperatures in the forecast, fair officials said keeping guests cool and hydrated is a priority. "We want to make sure that everyone is staying safe here at the fairgrounds,” said LeRoy Lewis III, Indiana State Fairgrounds director of community and media engagement. I'm looking forward to try out, I think it's the blue raspberry milkshake," Rivera said with a smile. Shapiro added that her group is staying cool with drinks while "having a great time."
