A couple in their early 90s died in an early morning house fire in the 500 block of Lincoln Blvd. The fire was first reported shortly before 3 a.m., and firefighters arrived to find the house engulfed in flames. The two victims had not been identified; however, KTLA reports that an elderly couple and a caretaker lived at the residence based on statements from neighbors. On June 5, an elderly man died after a fire broke out in a second-floor unit at a two-story apartment complex in the 2600 block of 5th Street. Fire crews responding to that blaze found heavy smoke and flames coming from a rear second-floor unit; the man was pulled from the apartment and later died at a hospital.
