Opposition and PN leader Alex Borg has called for a clear, long-term investment plan for Malta’s infrastructure, arguing that the country is struggling to keep pace with the needs of families, businesses and a growing economy. The PN leader reiterated several proposals put forward by his party, including automatic compensation for households and businesses affected by prolonged or repeated power cuts, better compensation for Enemalta workers and a clear investment plan for the distribution network. He also called for Malta to reduce its dependence on external energy sources and invest more heavily in renewable energy. “Social dialogue cannot only be used when the government is backed into a corner,” Borg said.
