Former Prime Minister Joseph Muscat has hit back at Opposition leader Alex Borg following comments made about the ongoing proceedings linked to the murder of Daphne Caruana Galizia.
Borg had said testimony emerging from the ongoing trial was raising “very serious questions” about what was happening at Castille during Muscat’s time as prime minister, as well as alleged links between people in power and suspicious individuals.
Muscat responded by pointing towards his decision to seek assistance from US authorities following Caruana Galizia’s murder.
“While the Leader of the Opposition first said he would not comment on the ongoing trial, he has now decided to drag me into it,” Muscat said.
The comments come as proceedings connected to the assassination of Daphne Caruana Galizia continue.
