Ben Ashton, of Colemans Lane in Porchfield, appeared before the IW Magistrates' Court on Friday, August 7. Prosecutor Rachel Coombes told the court Ashton had taken a DeWalt reciprocating saw, valued at £700, from the IW College in Newport. A DeWalt power tool (Image: Pixabay)The saw was never recovered. Magistrates were told Ashton has committed 17 theft offences since 2008. She said Ashton had since reconnected with his wife and children and was working as a self-employed builder.
