Hallow Church of England Primary School has been granted planning permission by Malvern Hills District Council to carry out the works. The school, in Main Road, Hallow, has been given nearly £400,000 to spend on increasing capacity thanks to recent housing developments in the village. Financial contributions from developers are ringfenced so the school has to spend the money on increasing the space for nursery provision and years 3 and 4. PLANS: Hallow Primary School, with the classrooms set to be extended highlighted (Image: Matthews Construction)According to plans submitted to Malvern Hills District Council, a feasibility assessment “concluded that the optimal strategy was to extend two existing classrooms and to construct a detached classroom in the south west corner of the school’s curtilage”. Planners said the extension was “modest” in nature and would not have a detrimental impact on neighbouring properties.
