Criminal proceedings advanced Friday against prominent real estate developer Stephen Cloobeck after the former California gubernatorial candidate formally denied felony charges alleging he attempted to silence witnesses in a high-profile burglary prosecution.
Prosecutors contend that Cloobeck deployed threats and physical intimidation to block key witnesses from delivering testimony against his former fiancée, social media influencer Adva Lavie.
Lavie, who also uses the pseudonym Mia Ventura, currently faces multiple felony charges tied to an extensive dating app burglary operation across Los Angeles County.

Authorities indicate that the Stephen Cloobeck witness intimidation charges involve three male victims who had been targeted in the underlying burglary ring.
