Mads Hovøre Andersen has joined the Danish Embassy in Manila as its new Deputy Head of Mission. Andersen began his diplomatic career as an intern at the Danish Embassy in Hanoi and later served as a political officer in Jakarta and team leader in Yangon. Andersen arrives as Denmark and the Philippines mark 80 years of diplomatic relations in 2026. According to the embassy, he will use his political experience to help strengthen cooperation between the two countries. The embassy added that Andersen is also looking forward to exploring the Philippines, experiencing Filipino culture and trying local food – including lechon.
