Derry Girls star Jamie-Lee O’Donnell has revealed that she cut ties with her entire family after an intense period of therapy. She said she had reached a point in her life and career where she realised there were things she needed to work through. She went on to reveal that the therapy had led to her decision to go ‘no contact’ with her family at home. Raised in Derry, O’Donnell moved to England to study performing arts after school, before splitting her time between auditions in the North and in London. She said that after the global success of Derry Girls, things had not been clicking, and that she had been struggling and needed to pause to work out why.
