Spread the loveA female husky named Sweetie had an entire community concerned about her welfare after viral photos showed alleged animal neglect and abuse in Merced, California. Local residents, rescuers and the Merced SPCA had discovered they lacked the legal authority to remove the dog from her owner without official intervention. The police stated Sweetie had been examined by a veterinarian and was determined to have been healthy. That is until yesterday as more community pressure increased and alleged videos of neglect and mistreatment were submitted by members of the community to authorities. The case will be submitted to the Merced County District Attorney’s Office for review of potential animal cruelty charges.
