CNN's Clarissa Ward share some of their discoveries relating to something known as the identifiable victim effect. Ward dredged up a pseudo-scientific-sounding study to show how reporting the news by showing images of migrants flooding across borders could fool viewers into heartlessness. So feeling threatened by a mob isn't a human response? Ward posted an image of U.K.’s Reform Party leader Farage gesturing to a large poster which reads, over a backdrop of a mass of migrants, “Europe Is At a Breaking Point.” Apparently the only correct, “human” response is to welcome still more illegal migrants into Europe and skip over the financial costs and violence borne by Europe’s own taxpaying citizens.
