Following a public consultation, Wiltshire Council still intends to introduce a 20 per cent increase in pay and display parking charges, rounded to the nearest 10 pence.
However, Wiltshire Council says it now plans not to introduce Sunday charging in the on-street car park in Cross Hayes.
Wiltshire Council had originally proposed an average increase in parking charges of 20 per cent this year, followed by a further five per cent increase in 2028.
The Cross Hayes car park has a maximum stay of two hours, the Station Road car park has a maximum stay of all day and the Burnham Road car park has a maximum stay of 24 hours.
In his response, Cllr Smith said that ‘all the parking charges are tailored to the specific local context’.
