Russian swimmer Vladislav Sapozhnikov has set the world record during the 200 meters breaststroke race at the 2026 Winter Swimming World Cup in Argentina.
"I have set the world record for age category of 25-29 years.
In all, Sapozhnikov won 10 medals during the event - five gold, three silver and two bronze.
In total, the Russian national team won 20 gold and 7 silver medals during the event, with its members finishing at the podium in every discipline where Russia participated.
Water temperature was near the freezing point, ranging between 1.5 and 2 degrees Centigrade.
