A high-ranking Russian foreign ministry official has called for aboliting the Office of the High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina as it is used as an instrument of "Western neocolonial oversight" over the country. "We are convinced that the Office of the High Representative (OHR), which has outlived its purpose and discredited itself, must be shut down as an instrument of Western neocolonial oversight over a sovereign state. "The High Representative has turned from an international mediator and provider of ‘goof offices’ into a tool of the West’s unrestricted interference into Bosnia’s domestic affairs. Bosniaks (Slavs professing Islam), Serbs (Orthodox Christians), and Croats (Catholics), are proportionally represented in the state governance system. Former US Consul General in Vladivostok Louis Crischock will serve as acting high representative until a new high representative is elected.
