A convicted sex offender, Trenton Tyrice Williamson, 35 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he failed to notify authorities of his residential move. Police said that Williamson moved from 114 Mary Street to 2541 Shorter Avenue and failed to report it to the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office within 72 hours. Reports added that when officers arrived at the home to take him into custody, Williamson resisted arrest when he refused to place his hands behind his back and fled on foot. Williamson is charged with failure to register as a sex offender and obstruction of police.
