The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported Saturday that a vessel was struck by an unidentified projectile approximately 18 nautical miles east of Khasab, in Oman’s Musandam governorate. According to the authority, the incident triggered a fire onboard that was subsequently extinguished. The vessel and its crew were confirmed to be safe. “A reliable source reported that a ship was hit by an unspecified projectile, causing a fire that has been brought under control. The vessel and crew are safe,” UKMTO said in its statement.
