Taiz – The Yemeni Armed Forces reported Saturday that heavy clashes have reignited with Houthi fighters across several fronts in Taiz province, accompanied by concentrated artillery strikes on rebel positions. According to SeptemberNet, the army’s official media outlet, artillery units targeted Houthi sites and gatherings in the al‑Dhabab and Ghurab fronts west of Taiz city, as well as in al‑Salu to the south and Maqbana in the western countryside. The strikes were described as retaliation for Houthi shelling of government positions in those areas. Simultaneously, Yemeni air defenses intercepted Houthi drones over Maqbana, thwarting attempts to launch attacks on army positions.
