Davis Martin had a first inning to forget on Tuesday.
Pitching at Fenway Park, the Chicago White Sox right-hander was torched for six runs by a scorching-hot Red Sox team that went on to prevail 14-2.
“It was probably more execution than anything,” said Martin, who also told me that video suggested he may have been tipping pitches.
“In the NFL, the first 15 plays are often scripted for the offense,” Martin said of his maturity gains on the mound.
Now in his 41st season in the team’s broadcast booth, Rizzs will be the 12th member of the Mariners HoF.
