Claude Code had been the first breakout coding product in the AI space, but it now has some serious competition. Claude Code was pulling in over 200,000 daily visits while ChatGPT Codex sat under 100,000, barely half of its rival’s traffic. For the first ten days of the month, Claude Code held a commanding lead, climbing as high as 290,000 visits while Codex crawled upward in the 100,000 to 190,000 range. It jumps from roughly 145,000 to over 300,000 visits in a matter of days, briefly overtaking Claude Code entirely. Claude Code climbs back to around 290,000 visits between July 27 and 29, while Codex tracks close behind in the 260,000 to 280,000 band.
