ABOUT 382,000 people from 110,000 families have been affected by the combined effects of the enhanced southwest monsoon and tropical cyclones Luis and Maymay, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said on Sunday.
Assistance worth P13.21 million had been provided to affected families by the Department of Social Welfare and Development, local government units and other partners, it added.
The second weather system also had a low chance of entering the PAR and was expected to move eastward away from the country, he said.
Mr. Aurelio said the third LPA likewise had a low chance of entering the Philippines.
Continuous and occasionally heavy rains could trigger flooding and landslides, while strong southwest monsoon winds could produce waves of as high as five meters in the extreme northern monsoon area.
