Photo: Grahame C AndersonEnergy giant BP has recorded profits of more than $5bn in three months - just days after announcing its intention to sell its North Sea business including West of Shetland assets.
BP included its decision to market its North Sea business, which includes the Clair oilfield, as a highlight from the quarter.
As far back as 2019, the SIC’s risk register warned that losing potential oil from the Clair field could hasten the terminal's closure.
In recent weeks, we sold our Gelsenkirchen refinery, agreed to sell our retail business in Austria and announced our intention to sell our North Sea business in the UK.
